50ml Propolis and its extracts have been used in traditional medicines for numerous applications in treating various diseases due to its antiseptic, anti-inflammatory effect helping skin heal, antioxidant, anti-bacterial, anti-mycotic, anti-fungal, anti-ulcer, anti-cancer, and immune-modulatory properties. People commonly use propolis for diabetes, cold sores, and swelling and sores inside the mouth. It’s also used for burns, canker sores, genital herpes, and many other conditions. Propolis contains the polyphenols called flavonoids. Propolis is rarely available in its pure form. It’s usually obtained from beehives. Produced by the honeybee (Apis mellifera). Propolis or bee glue is a resinous mixture that honeybees produce by mixing saliva and beeswax with exudate gathered from tree buds, sap flows, or other botanical sources (poplar and cone bearing trees). It is used as a sealant for unwanted open spaces in the beehive. Beeswax is different from propolis in that beeswax is a secretion produced by the bees. You often hear that honeybees collect propolis, but that’s not quite true. Honeybees don’t collect propolis fully formed any more than they collect honey fully formed.
